Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Melbourne West Business Directory collects, uses and protects information about businesses that apply to be listed and visitors who use the directory. Information we collect
When a business applies to be listed, we collect the contact person's details (first and last name, email address and phone number), the business's details (business name, legal entity name if provided, public business phone and email, website, ABN or ACN, industry, profession or category, descriptions and services, suburb, state, postcode and service areas), an optional full street address, social links, a business logo, an optional contact person photograph, and public evidence links and notes used to review the application (such as links to public reviews, testimonials or examples of work). We may also collect information you provide when you ask us questions about your listing.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to assess applications against our published listing standards, to manage and administer listings, to contact applicants about their application or listing, and to operate the directory generally. We do not publish private application or review information.
How we store your information
Your application and listing information is stored in the directory's database and in the operator's systems, which use service providers to provide storage and related services. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including restricting access to private application and review records. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and this policy does not guarantee that information will never be accessed, used or disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this policy.
What is displayed publicly
Only approved listing information is shown publicly on a business's profile and in the directory — for example the business name, public business contact details, website, industry and profession, suburb and service areas, descriptions, services, social links, the logo and, where provided, the contact person photograph. Your private application details, review evidence and review notes are not published. Your private contact phone and email are not shown publicly unless they are also used as the public business contact details. A full street address is displayed publicly only if you separately choose to show it on your listing; otherwise it stays private.
Optional marketing communications
Marketing communications are optional. We send them only where you separately authorise marketing consent, which is not a condition of applying or being listed. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by emailing bradley@autopilotbusinesssolutions.com.au.
Optional Featured Business add-on
During your application you can optionally express interest in a Featured Business add-on at $10 AUD per month. Expressing interest does not collect payment, create a subscription, authorise a charge, or affect your approval. If you opt in and your standard listing is approved, the directory arranges and confirms Featured payment with you separately, then activates Featured status manually. Featured businesses appear with a badge and a subtle card highlight, rank ahead of other matching local results, and may appear in a homepage Featured placement.
Access, correction and removal
You can request access to, correction of, or removal of information we hold about your business, or make a privacy enquiry, by emailing bradley@autopilotbusinesssolutions.com.au. We will respond to such requests in accordance with applicable privacy law.
